The Palmer House guestrooms were inspired by shades of green and black, most predominant in the famed Empire Room. The guestrooms were designed in a more contemporary fashion for an inviting guest experience while still paying homage to the hotel's historic significance.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Each guestroom features custom case goods incorporating
a rich custom ebony stain with accents of Macassar Ebony
veneer.
- The nightstands and desk were inspired by the Art Deco
movement, featuring a custom ebony finish. Nightstands are
detailed with an inset Macassar Ebony and Ivory trim while
the desk is highlighted with satin golden bronze accents to
compliment the original Louis Comfort Tiffany hardware in
the room.
- The four-drawer entertainment unit incorporates several
amenities including the television, coffee maker, and ice bucket.
SEATING
- Upholstered in a soft chartreuse green antiqued velvet,
the lounge chair and ottoman were inspired by the classic
Klismos chair.
BED
- Oversized headboards feature chevron matched Macassar Ebony
veneer insets framed in a rich ebony finish. The striped bed
skirt, persimmon red and black throw, chartreuse green pillow
shams, and black and white scrolled bolster pillow truly
compliment the Hilton Standard white bedding package.
WINDOW TREATMENT
- The contemporary window treatment is a focal point in the
guestrooms. The off-white and chartreuse green striped sheer
fabric on the roman shade helps emphasize the traversing
drapery and fully upholstered cornice.
LIGHTNING
- An elegant custom lighting package incorporates clear
urn-shaped nightstand lamps, contemporary, circular desk lamp,
high gloss black resin floor lamp, and flush-mounted ceiling
fixture with wood banding.
FLOOR COVERING
- The plush guestroom carpeting integrates a lattice pattern in
shades of dark olive and chartreuse green.
WALL COVERING
- Inspired by the hotel's Louis Comfort Tiffany peacock entry
doors, the tone-on-tone wall covering alludes to a subtle
peacock form.
ARTWORK
- The guestroom artwork is deeply rooted in Chicago's rich history
while also showcasing contemporary local artists. Oversized
imagery from the 1893 World's Fair and a bold persimmon
abstract damask become focal pieces in the guestroom.
STANDARD BATHROOM
- The over-scaled bathroom mirror is framed with frosted glass,
flooding light throughout the bathroom.
- The bathroom artwork features the hotel's Louis Comfort Tiffany
peacock doors.
- The bathroom wall covering creates an elegant backdrop with a
black scroll design offset by a simple white background.
- The Art Deco inspired vanity is finished in a rich custom ebony
stain with polished Black Pearl granite top and backsplash,
under-mounted lavatory, and polished chrome faucet set.
- Satin Aluminum legs compliment the white metal fixtures in the
bathroom, and a custom designed persimmon motif flatters the
vanity and shower curtain.
CORRIDORS
- The guest corridors provide a smooth transition between the
historic public and the more contemporary guest floors.
The peacock feather is the key motif which ties this relationship
together. The custom designed corridor carpet features the
feather element in an undulating background featuring lush
chocolates, deep greens, and delicate lavenders. The pattern
helps foreshorten the length of the corridors.
